Welcome to the ByrdNextDoor. The name of this blog stems from my legal last name and I’m confident we are all aware of the meaning of “the girl next door.” It’s simply a play on both elements.

Here’s a list to help get you acclimated to your new haven:

ByrdNextDoor - official name of this blog

neighbors - you! and anyone who participates in the reading, commenting, and suggesting of blog content

the Neighborhood - our tribe; the entire collective of ByrdNextDoor

nesting - the act of engaging in the ByrdNextDoor’s content via this blog site and/or social media

Byrd - my nickname (not to be confused with Byrdshit because that was a thing in H.S. that I did not like)

This space is a culmination of the conversations and experiences I’ve had with others and myself (teehee). A very casual space with room for errors, mistakes, political incorrectness, AAE, and other makings of me. I’ve been sitting on this for quite some time and I’m excited to write and allow my neighbors to get a glimpse into my home. I think this is going to be a good time. My goal is not to pepper you with content, but make it enjoyable and allow you to nest at your own pace. All ideas are welcome — but just ‘cause I said that don’t mean I’m including it lol.
